Our Mission
At Bright Path Family Services, our mission is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed mental health counseling to children and families who face financial barriers to care. We are dedicated to serving lower-middle and moderate-income families who often struggle to afford therapy and lack access to financial assistance. By creating a safe and nurturing space, we empower individuals and families to heal, build resilience, and find hope. Through accessible counseling and community support, we strive to restore well-being and strengthen the bonds that hold families together, ensuring that quality mental health care is within reach for those who need it most.
Why focus on middle-income families?
Mental health care remains out of reach for many middle-income individuals who earn too much to qualify for government assistance yet cannot afford private therapy. Bright Path Family Services seeks to bridge the gap by providing affordable, high-quality mental health services to underserved populations.
Middle-income families face a significant accessibility barrier when seeking mental health services. This demographic is often overlooked in public funding initiatives, which primarily focuses on low-income populations.
Two known factors that make mental health therapy inaccessible to them:
High costs of private therapy - The average therapy session costs $125-$250 per hour, making weekly therapy financially unfeasible for many.
Insurance Gaps - Many insurance plans require high deductibles to be met before benefits are applied, meaning that our middle class individuals pay $100-$150 per session. Families eligible for Medicaid often pay less than $10 per session.
